Removing a chimney breast

How can I reduce the cost of removing a chimney breast?

"There are two ways that you can remove a chimney breast one is placing a steel beam cross and support the remaining chimney stack and the other one is to remove the stack from the roof coming down and remove the chimney breast, depending on what you are hoping to achieve I recommend the removal of the whole chimney as once you have removed the chimney breast the rest of it is useless really, in term of reducing the cost there is no other way which would be safe to remove the chimney breast.
Thanks

"Hi mate, I've read the other answers to your question.. there are right but, you ask for the cheapest way? If buy chimney breast u mean internal not the actual brick chimney stack, then I guess your not using the fire place , log burner or wot ever hear source you have there anymore? .. so the cheapest way would be to stud it off and skim it.. you will lose the elcove space each side , but you will have a flat wall . If that's what you are trying to achieve... This would cost mabey £800 with materials... Good luck hope this helps"

"Hi .The cheapest way would be just to remove the breast .Put in rsjs in need to prop the breast above with acrows first make sure everything is done correctly. You will have to involve a structural engineer and calculations from him . Taking down the whole chimney would be more expensive .Hope this Helps good luck."

"yes removing it is a lot off money 4 not a lot off space .i would recommend not too as it can somtimes course structure weakness to long run off a house will need more than 2 steels plus floor reinforceds too . only do this if with removing walls to maximise space to make rooms bigger than before .like a small hall way or bad design lay out"

"The only way to remove a lower floor chimney breast is to install a steel beam to support the upper chimney, remove brick work below the beam and make good this gives you a lot more space in the room, approx cost £1200. If you want the whole chimney breast removed from top to bottom is a big job and includes repairing the floor and ceiling where chimney was this can cost up to £3000. Unfortunately there is no cheap way to do this."
