"My Good friend, Yes you do need fast track Consent planning permission from your local Council, due to the fact that you are altering (change the actual design and shape looking ) of the property.. because freehold or leasehold). the land where the structure stand (building). still remain the property of Queen of England..According to the law of the Land.

I’m short you don’t need permission to brick up a door way. However you will have to meet the current regulations, which states you have to have a main entrance or the same amount of entries to the house that was previously there without permission to do otherwise. If you contact your local council they can put you in touch with the correct people to talk to"

"You don't need permission if you own your house, and that it isn't Listed Grade 1 or 2. Remember if you plan on renting it out, you will need a fire escape so bricking up say 1 of 2 external doors is not a good idea."
