Raise bungalow roof

I have just purchased a bungalow & wanted to turn the loft space into a bedroom. But it’s 600mm short on the height.
What are my options?

"If your loft space falls below the minimum height required for a standard loft conversion, there are still options to make the most of it:

1.Roof Light Conversions: These are suitable for lofts with limited headroom. They don’t require structural changes to the roof and can improve natural light. -Skylights create the illusion of more space.
2.Dormer Conversions: While designed for higher ceilings, dormer conversions can be adapted to fit into a low-ceiling space. You might need to reduce the dormer window size to comply with regulations.
3.Raise the Roof or Lower the Ceiling: Consider professional assistance to raise the roof or lower the ceiling of the room below. This can create more headspace in the loft."

"You could look into raising the roof of the bungalow to create the additional height needed for the loft space. However, this can be a significant and costly renovation project that may require planning permission and the expertise of architects and builders. Another option could be to explore lowering the floor of the loft space, but this also involves structural changes and should be assessed by a professional to ensure safety and compliance with building regulations. It's essential to consult with experts to determine the best solution for your specific situation."

"Lower the floor is the best option or ease roof but this works out expensive"

"You would require an architect to design the roof so it meets all your regs, likely to be a dormer configuration, this would then need submitting to your local council for planning permission. Then appoint a local builder to complete the works."
