"Personally I would recommend nailed. Should you ever need to amend something underneath it. Glue is hard to get under. So in it's pros maintains it's position being glued. Hope this helps"

"Many installers and manufacturers prefer the glue-down method because of its superior stability. Gluing down your floor leads to less shifting and creaking, making the engineered hardwood feel and sound more secure. You can also glue down floors on any type of subfloor, even if it's uneven.

"It all depends on what what sort of wood flooring it is and what it is going down on"

"Regards the sub floor I guess says it all. If its a concrete subfloor the glue is the one I would recommend and if you have a wooden subfloor then nails are good. I would go with whatever the spec of the flooring says personally."

"I would never nail a laminate or engineered floor. Laminate needs no fixing as it is layered, and expansion is minimal. so just laying with a pressured skirting or beading is fine. solid flooring such as oak moves a lot, as oak is so dense it will never stop moving. So, usually we lay this on a rubber-based adhesive to allow for expansion.

I personally think solid floors look so much better and you always have the option of sanding the floor back and re varnishing. the cost is much greater, but the feel is so much better.

I hope this helps
