"You need a 32 mm trap and try with adjustable one, more ease to use."

"Hi David, waste traps are very different. In terms of size, for a basin you would firstly be looking at using a 32mm (or 1 1/4 inch) trap. I carry various types on the van and the one I use will depend on the situation and waste pipe configuration I'm faced with. I carry bottle traps, P-traps, S-traps, and even waterless traps. Waste traps for the larger 40mm (1 1/2 inch) can vary even more. Kitchen sinks can have one plug waste or 2 with various waste spigots required for appliances (washing machines and dishwashers) and connections for hot water filters and boiler condensate pipes. In terms of fitting, usually the most difficult part is connecting the waste trap to the existing pipework that exits the building or enters the soil stack. This often involves a small section of either Polypropylene or ABS solvent weld pipe and a few fittings. Again, I carry pretty much every fitting you can think of on the van, so I can usually complete this final connection without too much fuss. Doing this yourself might mean quite a lot of trips to the hardware store while you try to obtain the appropriate parts."

"A basin trap should fit standard 32mm waste pipe. However, there are many different traps and selecting the one that can easily connect to your existing waste pipe will help make the job easier. Make sure you get a trap that fits 32mm and not 40mm which is for a kitchen sink or bath."

"Ah dead easy.....first identity size....big or small just 2 sizes...1 1/2...1 1/4......then purchase the correct design....bottle.....s or p with or without height adjustment. Some traps will only fit thre own manufacturers pipework......and some are so cheap they wont mate properly with the sink boss which if it cheap plastic will need renewing as the thread will probably split.....
My advice call a decent plumber who will evalute this in the time it takes to open the cupboard.......you my friend will dissapear don the proverbial gooogle drainhole......."
