Planning where to put cooker and sink in kitchen

How do I work out the best place for my cooker and sink to go in the kitchen? Are there any no-no's?

"If possible it’s always good to have a sink by the window or if there’s an existing supply and waste then close to them…

- naturally the cooker will need an extractor so an outside wall would be best, near the sink, although there are extractors that don’t need an outlet pipe…

- best way is to stand in the empty space, close your eyes, and sense where appliances ‘should’ be, I often design kitchens in an organic way and it always works and looks great…..👍"

"best place for a sink is normally under a window, your cooker/oven if intergrated is normally ok to go anywhere your hob depends on if its gas or electric, and it best to check the specifacations in the manual or on line."

"hi, to help answer your question, when planning a kitchen design there is a image called the kitchen triangle that you can google which helps with cooker, sink, fridge locations.

"It difficult to answer that question without a layout of your kitchen… the topography and knowing where your services are…A good kitchen design takes many things into account as to what goes where, including access doors, unit sizes your kitchen can accommodate due to available space etc,.. but generally I’d put the sink closest to where your waste is… you said cooker so I’m assuming it’s a stand alone gas cooker, I just wouldn’t put it next to a wall…"

"It depends on the layout? If you have an outside window most people put the sink there because most of the time your drainage is there cooker gas/electric depending where your gas/electric points are"

"Best to stay away from corners, hard to say without seeing the lay out but usually sink near a window and the cooker somewhere where you can easily Stowe things in worktop"
