"Hi Lou, planting plants like sunflowers, impatiens, Calendula, camellias, elaeagnus, i know certain roses are fine avoiding large hips (attractive to pets), privet can easily be shapped and safe, buddleia (butter-fly bush - can be invasive), jasmine, photina (red robin), escalonia, buxus, asters are a good herbaceous perennial, ferns, and cornflower but do check wild flower packs as these may contain conflower, but can contain also toxic plants to pets. If you can specify what pet or pets you have we can then narrow down the plants/shrubs.
I hope this helps.
