Peeling paint in kitchen

Why is the paint peeling in my kitchen? It was only decorated about six months ago and it's flaking off.

"Hi Pete, possibly 3no reasons, lack of ventilation within the kitchen, or the decorators have applied the paint onto a greasy/unclean surface, or if it was new plaster, then it should off been primed with 3no coats of natt emulsion prior to finish coat"

"You don't say on which surface the paint is peeling.
Ranges from....
Damp or
No undercoat or
Wrong type of paint or
Surface grease.

All this is down to perparation before you start.
Best to start again with professional advice.
There is a saying in the trade.
"If you can piss you can paint"
NVQ certification proves this saying wrong."

"The paint used might not be durable enough to use in a kitchen. Also need to take ventilation into account."

"I think it has to do with 1. Humidity in your kitchen. The steam coming from cooking. It's important that as we cook there is plenty of fresh air circulation in the kitchen, if the paint jobs flake or peel off due to steam, then keep all doors and windows open during cooking. 2. May be its a cheap plaint or 3. May be Not the right paint for the kitchen."

"Was it plastered before being painted? Sounds like it was preped enough or no base coat on plaster"
