Painting vertical stripes on walls

I've seen lots of social media posts of people painting vertical stripes on bedroom walls. I'd like to try it but I'm worried about getting the lines straight enough. Any tips?

"Painting vertical stripes on bedroom walls can create a unique and stylish look. Here are some tips to help you get straight lines:

Measure and mark: Use a level and measuring tape to mark where you want your stripes to go. Use a pencil to mark a straight line at the top and bottom of each stripe. Make sure the marks are level and evenly spaced.

Use painter's tape: Apply painter's tape along the lines you marked. Press the tape firmly to ensure it adheres well and helps prevent bleeding. Make sure to remove the tape while the paint is still wet.

Use a small brush: When painting along the tape, use a small brush to carefully paint up to the edge of the tape. This will help prevent the paint from bleeding under the tape.

Paint in thin coats: Apply thin coats of paint to help prevent bleeding and to ensure the lines are crisp and even. Allow the paint to dry completely between coats.

Remove the tape carefully: Once the paint has dried, carefully remove the painter's tape at a 45-degree angle. Pull the tape away from the wall slowly to avoid peeling off any of the painted areas.

Touch up any mistakes: If there are any areas where the paint has bled, use a small brush to touch up the lines with the base color.

With these tips, you should be able to achieve straight, crisp lines when painting vertical stripes on your bedroom walls"

"Hi Sharon. Thank you for your message. The only way I think I would do it would be to draw the lines using a spirit level first. Then paint with one colour at a time. Once that colour is dry then, using Frog tape (the green one) I would paint the other colour. Not something I have done myself but with a bit of patience it should love well. This I would also say would only work on smooth walls as the tape wouldn't stick to blown vinyl wallpaper. Thanks. Shane"

"In my experience a lazer level and a good low tac tape . Take a damp rag over the tape prior painting this should reduce the paint bleeding under the tape . Hope this helps"

"I you use the yellow frog tape and make sure lines are parallel also making sure the tape is stuck down, you will get the finished results. Just make sure the paint is dry before taking tape off."

"Hi ya.

Go and get some low tack maskig tape, the one for fresh paint, it is yellow and madeby frog tape.

It has edge tchnology so paint will not run under tape edge.

Put the tape on using a spirit level to ensure it straight.

Hope this helps
