Can you paint a bathtub? If so, what sort of paint product is needed and what safety considerations must I take on board? Thanks!

Well I wouldn't paint a bathtube
I try it on my bath a long time ago I used 
Acrylic paint 
It stayed on my bath until fringer nails etc scraped the bath and then it started to peal
