"Hi

Everyone prices things differently.
They can add the “desperation” factor.

I advise people ( if you can ) wait till the morning and get it cheaper!

A £100 night call out is standard, £80 per hour, then say £50 for lock.

3 hrs would have been £240 + £100 + £50 = £390.00

Yours was expensive ( in my opinion)"

"Hi Andy , at 10 pm I’d of charged 125 pound . You should have refused to pay it . Sorry hindsight is a great thing . So many rogue people out there calling themselves locksmiths is unacceptable. And also they should have picked it not drilled it ."

"Wow, that’s unacceptable! To drill a lock properly it should take a locksmith 1 hour max for the most high security locks, 15 mins for a standard lock.
At 10 pm you should expect to pay around a £50 call out and £100-200 per hour, depending on the locksmith. So £250 max. Regards, Barry"

"£800 is a lot to drill and replace a lock. I would say around £150."

"Yes definitely no more than £120 for that job, £65-85 for a standard lock change and up to £120 out of hours"

"That does seem incredibly high.

Firstly it shouldn't take take that long to drill a lock.

Secondly that price is madness. I could have charged £100 due to the time of night plus the lock price.

I pride myself on not ripping people off but not everyone's the same unfortunately."

"That's ridiculous, what lock was it?
If it was a 3 star security then can take longer but I would expect tops to pay at 10pm with new lock £280.00.
That's based on top lock otherwise £110.00 depending on location."

"Hi Andy,
It does depend on the type of lock and door you shouldn't be paying anything over £200 for this type of job.

Drilling a lock is an acceptable entry method depending on the lock you had."

"Defitatly overcharged should not take 3 hours to drill a lock"
