Outside Tap query

If an outside tap is already fitted with a double check valve in it then will it require any additional valves for the pipework inside for safety/prevent freezing?

"The check valve is to prevent backflow, ideally an isolation valve would be added to turn off the supply (if you don't already have)
It's not ofter an issue unless you have exposed pipework."

"Should have isolation inside, and a drain off point is handy, usually outside, to avoid freezing issues"

"Doesn’t need anymore but always handy to put an isolation valve on the pipework before the tap if you can. If not you can turn it off from the mains anyway.
As for freezing pipework you would have to lag the pipework that is externally on show.
Thanks"

"If I was two fit an outside tap I would fit double check valve to stop back flow into the house and also fit a 15mm isolation valve so I. Winter can turn water off two prevent freezing, hope this helps ."

"Hello there is not really additional valves that can be fitted to prevent pipe freezing, only option is pipe insulation. There should be a isolation valve fitted onto pipework so it can be isolated if ever necessary."

"Drain off low level and isolated the pipe to prevent the freezing my opinion but the water will become freezing below of zero degree until 0 degree will be fine"

"If your outside tap already has a double check valve, it addresses backflow concerns. However, for freeze prevention, you might want to add internal isolation valves and a drain-off valve. These extra measures can help ensure safety and prevent freezing by allowing you to shut off the water supply and drain the pipework during colder weather."

"Yes it requires a ballifix valve inside aswell to be able to turn the water off in cold weather"

"only an easy accessible isolating valve so you can shut off during cold periods"

"A double check valve will prevent contamination and back flow into the water supply, however freezing will still occur. It’s suggested fitting an isolation valve internally, and then isolating and opening the outside tap when temperatures are very low, to prevent freezing."
