I'm looking for a rough idea please of the cost to remove a corrugated panel roof (may be asbestos) on an outbuilding 4m x 3m and replace with bitumen or similar? Or any advice on the absolute cheapest way to do it would be very welcome. Roof is leaking very badly.

"Yes bitumen will be cheapest on my opinion. The sheet are 1m x 2m and the price is with discount in some shops only £12 per item. So u need only 3 sheets or 4."

"My advice is to contact your local Asbestos contractor. I work for a school who use a company called All Clear. They will remove the sheets and clean down the timbers ready for re-roofing. You only need one single asbestos fibre to attach to your lung and you could develop asbestosis over the long term. Always leave hazardous work like this to a registered contractor. They will ensure the waste material is disposed of correctly on completion."

"I would budget around £1350. Including licensed asbestos disposal . We would suggest profile metal sheets or bitumen but depending on the roof structure it may need timbers adding. A single ply PVC roof onto a new timber sheet deck would cost around the same. Happy to quote"
