Our bathroom refurbishment will include removing the ceiling to create a vaulted single pitch. Am I better getting a builder, or would a bathroom specialist be able to do (or subcontract) the building and plastering elements please?

You could use a single builder to do all of the job, as long as they do fit bathrooms as well as they may call in a bathroom fitter in which case could cost you more. You may need a structural engineer to see if the joist can take the load as you may need to upgrade the joist. A good builder may be able to let you know."

"As a bathroom fitter I usually subcontract the specialist trades in ie, electrician, plasterer, carpenter.

"From my own experience - I never do plastering or more complex building works, always include that in price and subcontract others who know exactly what to do without any fuss. It always proved to be the best way."
