No water coming out of the hot tap

The radiators weren't heating up properly. I bled the radiators (which didn't actually have any air in them, so were ok). I added some pressure (too much... so bled a radiator again till it was 1.4 bar (cold). Boiler played up so had to turn it off and on a few times. Heating was then able to come on (still only little heat so may possibly be sludge or something in radiators). Key thing, however, is that then, when I turned the hot tap on, nothing came out at all.... nor since. Pls can someone advise me! No hot water in during this cold snap is not fun. Particularly at the weekend! Thanks.

"Doube check the filling loop. One of the valves may still be on. Which directs water to the loop instead of the hot tap."

"It is vaillant boilers or families boilers; Please close the filling valve which you opened to top up the pressure; just the underneath the boiler; and your hotwater will be back on....thanks"

"You may have over-pressured the boiler and the Cutout has tripped. See if the boiler manual says how to reset. May just need electric supply to boiler to be turned off for short time. Then on again"

"Hi
Most answers relate to filling loop. As already mentioned Vaillant Ecotec plus range boilers have a built in filling loop which if inadvertently left in the open position after you attempted to refil the system water wil cause No water issue out of hot tap .

"Hiya what boilers is it by any chance an ideal logic if so have you turn both levers back off so it not diverting the cold water to the filling loop"

"Sounds as though the diverter valve is stuck in the boiler. Sometimes turning the mains power to the house (not spur) can reset it all but only sometimes. It needs replacing asap there's no real fix for it."

"Sounds like an airlock. Need to clear the air trapped in the pipes."
