Question

Hi need help. I got new windows an door in September 2024 problem started right away can hear everything as if the windows an door are open my neighbours dog barking from the back garden, also drilling coming from at least 10 houses up the street as if it's right next to me. The draft coming from the front door in the hallway is freezing as is the whole house which wasn't before they got put in. I have contacted the company they cant find any issues there's definitely a problem I'm wasting heating an I shouldn't be need advice please. Thanks

Hi, I would advise testing the coverage on the opening vents. If there's insufficient coverage then you'll have the problem as described.

Also, if they are measured small then the gaps around the item can allow for noise to pass through.

I would certainly advise asking either fensa or certass to inspect if no joy from the original installation company.

Potentially the cavity needs closing with foam between the window and brickwork of the building.

Your windows are must not be installed properly or poor quality . Also they may be not insulated properly around if they used trims inside just pull one of them off and see if gap between wall and frame is filled properly with expanding foam without and gaps or holes

Hi you need the door serviced correctly so it pulls in tight ,there's ways of doing this some installers haven't got the experience to set the door once installed

I would find the problem straight away 
I refurbish windows & it’s down to poor installation. Drafts and no sealing of cold bridging 
It’s a common mistake unfortunately 
Cold will still come through UPVC with proper sealing

If you had the windows fitted recently as stated then they should be fitted with trickle vents, if they are then that could be the problem. As for the door firstly check if the door edge lines up with door outer frame if it does not then that’s bad fitting, however when you go in or out of the door is the handle pushed up to lock position as all Upvc doors are not draught proof unless the locks are engaged pulling the door onto seals

Hi, usually a common problem when installers don't back fill or close the cavity off before trimming. 
If possible call them back and remove one of the trims and you'll find it's a common problem i come across all the time, hope this helps.
