Moving drain inspection cover

Is it possible to move the location of my drain's inspection cover? It's right by my back door and I'd like to build a patio. Do I need any permissions etc?

If it's a shared drain owned by your water provider you need permission. You can't just move a manhole lid without moving the entire manhole itself.

Hi , you can buy an manhole cover to replace old one that you can slab in lid so that it isn’t so obvious that a manhole is there! Don’t just slab over old one as you are bound to need access at some time

You wouldn't need permission as it's a private drain

No permission needed if you own your own property.And you can completely move manhole and install just a Rodding access for blockages

you dont need permission if its on your land , youll need to move the manhole aswell as the cover as that is ur rodding access point.
