"As there are many satellites available, each providing different channels, a motorised dish can be used to move the dish to point at several satellites.
Dish size would determine which satellites are able to be received as some satellites require larger dish size than others.
Ideally you should firstly decide which channels you want to receive and if you are to subscribe to specific services or not, a professional installer could then offer a motorised system that would suit your needs.

"A motorised dish will move, on command of selected channel, to the correct satellite. A set top box will have the capacity to have several satellite feeds, then when you select another channel, it sends a command to the dish, to move to that satellite that has that channel, and view it."
