Most important features for business security cameras

What features are most important in business security cameras? I've seen ones with analytical cameras, thermal imaging and AI detection but I'm not sure what's most useful or effective against theft and vandalism.

"The police always complain about the quality of recordings, so get good cameras 8mp if possible and situate them for face capture, having audio is also good. Some cameras have infrared lights and also white lights that come on when motion is detected, good way to ward of criminals"

"I would say that the best features for yourself would be quality and coverage. However some cctv systems have built in so that can sound an alert and flash a light from a camera when motion is detected between set hours. This could also be linked to apps and emails."

"I personally would go for a number of stand alone cameras and have maybe 1 or 2 PTZ(movable cameras) and have they system set up so the fixed cameras look at am area which needs to be covered at all time which a PTZ could then scan the whole area over a period of time."

"In this case, quality and the camera locations would be the priority. Good quality cameras allow for identification of objects, items but also people if any recordings were to be handed over to the police. As for the camera locations, you can minimise costs by having cameras installed at person/vehicle entrances as this is where any suspects would enter/exit allowing them to be captured on camera while reducing the cost of needing 100% coverage of a businesses premesis."

"If you want a deterrent than there are the Tioc cameras by Dahua which have built in AI smart intrusion / motion detection (vehicle and human) they also have a built in microphone and speaker so it can sound an alarm. They also have flashing lights to alert an intruder. I’d also say that you definitely need good quality night vision. These can do up to 50 metres I believe"

"I would say megapixels MP most cameras are 1080p HD but it’s the mp is the matter, so you can zoom see clearly higher MP the better.
Also ones does the spotlight light and play messages alert your phone AI detection."

"Most important feature would be mp rating (picture quality.) motion detection and alerts sent to your phone or key holders system are also a needed feature. Otherwise you won't know anything is happening until the next day."

"I wouldent het to invol ed with these type, as they are very expensive! The main criteria sre thst they have motion detection , can be monitored ghrough a mobile app and have s resolution of 5 mp or higher . If car number plates are required at night time, then anpr cameras can pick out number plates ! But again these are expensive !"
