How can I make a walled courtyard look larger? What are the best steps to consider?

Creating depth and adding height is key to making a walled garden look larger. Planting some taller trees in the corners and across the back add height and make it look larder. Creating plant boxes or planting plants to creat zones can add interest and draw the eye around the garden making it feel bigger and more interesting. Also painting the wall a light colour tricks the eye into believing the space is bigger.

I put fence boards on my walls and painted them it looked loads bigger and brighter and my ended up doing next doors as well it looked that good.

You can use mirrors on some of the walls angled slightly  and slightly hidden with foliage to give the illusion the garden goes beyond the garden walls.
