Question

What can I do to prolong the performance fitness of artificial grass? With real grass, it’s easy to know what to do but with artificial grass, are there any steps at all I can take to take care of it? Is it really just a matter of leaving it be and hoping for the best? Or are there specific approaches and ways to maintain an artificial lawn over the years? Thank you.

I would recommend regular brushing of the grass each month to keep it nice and bouncy.

Normally when you purchase a new astro turf your giving an option to purchase an astro turf hand brush for sweeping/cleaning/ maintaining your astroturf.
This is also normally part of your credentials for your warranty

You can brush in kiln Sandor helps the strands stand up better,and fills any small holes.

Good way of maintaining is cleaning it with jet wash and adding more kiln dry sand after to top

Firstly invest in a good quality product with a tuft of 38 mm or more.
Birds still drop seeds which will germinate in water between filaments so remove before they puncture the membrane below.
An artificial lawn rake (I have one) brings the tufts back up to give it a lift.
Great product if you have dogs! Spray regularly in summer and a non bleach household spray can be used and hose weekly.
