Magnetic filters for boilers

Are new boilers generally fitted with a magnetic filter or is this something I should request?

Definitely request  they work so we'll especially the magna clean ones  very very good

Manufacturers recommend a filter to be fitted but a lot of boilers come with them from the box now

Most manufacturers require a filter to be fitted. As with any purchase. The engineer may cut corners and tell you that it’s not required. 
However most manufacturers offer longer warranty with the filters fitted.

Filters should be installed as advised in part L of the building regulations. We have always installed filters as common practice. Its is also mandatory for the majority of boiler manufacturers warranties.

Yes all new boiler installations should be fitted with a magnetic filter and also a carbon monoxide detector from 1/10/22 as per part L of the new building regulations

Every engineer should be fitting a filter as part of the job as it prolongs the life of your new boiler 

My self personally would never fit a new boiler without fitting a new filter and new scale reducer

Almost all manufacturers now insist on a magnetic filter as standard for warranty purposes. 

If your heating engineer isn’t suggesting / insisting you have a magnetic filter FIND A NEW ENGINEER!!
