Light fitting swap

We want a ceiling light swapped with the current one. I had a look myself and there are a lot of wires attached to the current light fixture. How much would this cost ?

"First thing, don't remove any of the wires :) some are most likely switch wires/permanent lives and once removed, it will cost a lot more to fix and find out which is which.

Approx. price for this would be between £60-£80 depending on size/location and if there were any issues identified."

"Hi there,

Personally I would charge £50 inc vat but I understand majority or electricians will have a minimum call out fee of £80 usually.

Many thanks!

"I would advised first to check what type of light fitting it us? I or II, than would check the DB/fuseboard if it's safe and up to date. Than Zs on the lighting circuit the light is about tk be change and than swap it.
Anyway, depends on area, travel would start from £45 (scheduled it with other jobs- client to be flexible as well) or call out charge starting from £90
You are welcome."

"Hi, I hope you are well. It all depends on your location, what area you are in. As the further the job is the longer the travel. Thanks Sean."

"Hi hope you are doing well. I would say the average is £40 provided the distance is less than 10 miles, and the lighting is not heavy. Cheers"

"A local electrician would normally charge £40 to £50 to replace the fitting dependant on time and travel"

"£30 because it's a simple job for a qualified electrician.

In most cases, the reason that a ceiling rose may have a lot of wires in it simply because its middle terminals are used to distribute electricity around the rest of the lighting in the house."
