Kitchen mechanical extractor

To get our building certificate for our extension they’ve said that for our kitchen extractor fan

You require mechanical extraction to the outside from a kitchen either via the cooker hood that you have providing thirty lts or a mechanical extractor elsewhere in the kitchen to the outside providing sixty lts

Can an electrician do this or if not who?

"Hi.
Yes, most decent electricians will be able to install an extractor fan for you."

"Depends on the certificate you require. Extractor not always required in a kitchen and can sometimes just be recycling carbon filters.

A Sparky can fit an extractor, needs to be a min 30 Litres per minute I believe."

"Hi Jade.

Any electrician in your area should be able to sort this for you. 2 steps required
1: choose an extraction hood or extraction fan kit.
2: you will need this to vent outside so a flexible or solid duct will be required and a hole in an exterior wall

Kind regards
David"

"You can get anyone to put the extractor and the ducting in but you would need an electrician to wire this up for you providing you with a minor works certification

"Yes they can if there used to doing that type of thing (core drill a hole out on an exterior wall)and wire and fit a extractor fan (150mm) with an isolation switch hope this help (I’ve put loads in but I’m also a qualified plumber as well as an electrician)"

"An electrician should be able to do this, basically, a circulating fan which is sometimes found in cooker hoods with charcoal filters does not extract externally, hence why the building regulations are requesting a different type of hood or a separate fan."
