Kitchen benchtops

The edge of our new kitchen benchtop has "crimp" type marks along the edge of it. Any idea how this happened?

"It’s more than likely been shipped with multiple other worktops strapped together and the fixing has left the mark. That or it’s been poorly stored / dropped onto something."

"If the benchtop was clamped down too tightly while being fitted, the pressure from the clamps could have left indentations along the edge."
