Is it legal to have hedges trimmed in the UK? Does it depend on the location amid other factors?

"Hello

Yes, it is legal to trim hedges. You may trim your own hedges. Or if a neighbour's hedge is encroaching on your land you may trim it, best to discuss with the neighbour though. If a hedge is blocking a public footpath it is best to report it to the council."

"If it’s a part of your property and going into someone else’s property etc, it’s your duty to maintain them"
