Installing two types of hardwood floor

If I were to have an engineered hardwood floor installed in the kitchen and then a solid hardwood floor fitted in my living room, would it feel weird for us or even our guests, walking on one surface then another? Would it feel out of place to have these two types of flooring on the same level of my house?

"I wouldn’t have a solid floor in a solid floor. The range is very small and solid floors intend to give lots of problems especially in the kitchen with water. My best suggestion is have the engineered flooring it’s better for the kitchen and for the lounge it’s more stable and to get a wider board and a wider range of colours The engineer Floor will last you longer because of its stability while the solid one intends to have problems with moisture. You have to think about the mattress of laying the floor onto concrete or applied base or floorboards. Normally solid floor can be glued down to ply or cigarette nail to floorboards , while the engineer floor can be floated onto a concrete floor or glue down to apply ."

"engineered flooring gives you a natural wood finish as it does have solid wood veneer finishing and can be matched up pretty well with natural solid wood flooring. you would pretty much get the same feeling. id probably just go with one or the other, you'd get the same finish but you have more ware with solid."

"An engineer floor has a real wood top surface.
3mm to 6mm pending on the quality.
If it’s is install properly no one would know the difference"
