How to identify if my garage roof contains asbestos
How do I know if my old garage roof is asbestos? It needs to come down but im worried that it might be asbestos. Should I be wearing protective clothing or should I just get a specialist company in?

"Personally I would take a small sample and send it away for testing. It cost roughly £10 per test and you will know for sure. The test could come back showing that it’s cement board which looks identical to asbestos roofing but is 100% safe to remove.
If your results come back as asbestos, ideally you should hire an approved company to remove it for you."

"It would be wise to seek out a specialist company, you can tell if its asbestos by looking at it.

"To check if the roof is made of asbestos, look for a grey coloured corrugated material. If it is, then it's more than likely asbestos.
I do recommend you to use an asbestos specialist for this job and not to DIY."
