"If the lining paper is to be painted (emulsion( it is advisable to leave a slight gap which will be filled by the paint. If the lining paper is to be wallpapered then butt up the joints but take care not to overlap the joints."

"No,put it up as normal wallpaper ,lining paper is a bit wider than wallpaper and comes in different thickness l would suggest the 1400 one ,can be hung longways but not necessary .allow to dry before painting or papering over"

"Leave a 1mm (1/25”) gap between the paper strips to avoid ridges forming. Brush overlapping ends into the corner to mark where you'll need to cut. Pull back the paper slightly, cut along the mark with scissors and brush back into place

"The short answer is "No, you do not need to leave a gap"
There is no need to leave a gap whislt hagning Lining paper, however, you do not want to overlap it either, therfore "butting" the paper together is sufficiant.

Always follow manufacturers "soaking time" usually round about 3-5 mins, this will allow the paper to be more pliable and will also swell up slightly, so as it dries back it will shrink a little.

When it comes to painting, slightly dilute first coat with either Dulux Super Matt or Crown Cover Matt, both of these paints do not contain Vinyl and will stop any peeling later on. At this stage, if you see any visable gaps in lining paper, you can now fill if needed, If you see any edges of paper then lightly sand between coats using a 120-160 grit abrasive paper, then touch up any unpainted filler with same paint you used for 1st coat then you are ready to apply you 2 top coats (never fill and sand on an unpainted surface as you will damage paper."
