How much to hang internal bifold door?

Hi I have an Internal LPD top hung bi-fold door.

It needs assembling and fitting to the doorway. Doorway is 100mm too high so will need filling to reduce height. There is no wooden frame on the wall, although a frame has been provided with the door.

What would be a fair charge for this Job? I'm based in Nottingham.

"For assembling and fitting an internal bi-fold door, along with modifying the doorway to reduce the height by 100mm and installing the provided frame, the cost will depend on a few factors: local labor rates, the complexity of the fitting, and whether additional materials (such as wood for filling the height gap) are required.

In Nottingham, general rates for carpentry or door fitting services range between £150 and £300 for a job like this. Specifically:

Door Assembly and Fitting: Around £100–£150 depending on the time it takes to assemble and install the door.

Modifying the Doorway (height reduction and fitting the frame): You might expect an additional £50–£100, depending on how much work is needed to properly reduce the doorway height and secure the frame.

So, a fair charge for this job could range from £150 to £250, depending on specifics like the time it takes and whether extra materials are needed.

It’s worth getting a few quotes from local tradespeople to ensure you get the best rate!"

"This work is quite voluminous, and if we take into account the work of a general worker, then it will take a day or maybe 2 j. I think about 400"

"Hello,
I think there is actually quite a lot more work here than you may think, i would think this will be an all day job or even may go into another day, around £300 - £350 for a good job, £200 from someone- willing to have a go!"
