How do I make my current fence more private?

I currently have concrete fencing and we recently took lots of trees down from an old pond. This now has created privacy issues. Is there anything that can be done to make the current fence taller on a low budget? I don’t want to replace the fence just as it’s a solid concrete fence.

"All depends on the size of the posts. If you have enough space on the post to be able to move the panels up and put a concrete gravel board then do it. Otherwise could possibly look at adding a trellis panel."

"Hi Laura, if you have concrete slotted posts with a 6 inch concrete gravel board you could replace the gravel boards with 1ft concrete gravel boards, this would give you an extra 6 inches in height. Alternatively you could mount trellis to the top of the fence? Without seeing it its hard to comment... Hope this helps a little. Mike"

"I did the same thing you are asking about, and what I did was...
Got new poles (wooden) and joined them on the poles already there and basically increased the height by 4foot, the poles were 6ft and I used 2ft to attach poles. Then I went and got panel fences from a well-known supplier and nailed them in between the new poles, and there you go, privacy back!"

"A neat hedging plant like a red robin is a good choice. it can be shaped and trained to suit your needs, although it will need maintaining. another great option is trellis, either bare or with a nice climbing plant like a clematis would look lovely."

"Trellis is probably the way forward, there are so many types now from screened to large plant growing squares. The budget option are standard square 1ft X 6ft not the best for screening, but a carefully planted Jazmin of clematis or perhaps a climbing rose or two will soon give you the screened effect you require."

"maybe add some trellis on top of the fence and add some trailing plants"

"What panels do you have currently, what height and the state of the panels
If the current panels are less than 6ft then you can just swap the panels with a 4x2 in the top of the concrete post
If they featheredge you just add more to the top"
