"To prevent this you need to rake back all the gravel and fit a breathable membrane down which will let water to drain through but prevent weed and grass to penetrate through"

"Hi, you should have put membrane weed control.

Is there a membrane underneath gravel? If not then that's why it grows in the first place"

"I would remove existing gravel, spray weed killer on area, then lay down a good membrane and then put your old gravel down or get new."

"Hi
You can take out the existing weed growth to a clean surface, depending on the surface we usually then use a clear sealant to prevent this in the future."

"Scrape gravel & weeds off the driveway, for best results compact base until the ground is clear of any loose hardcore/stones.
Then lay a heavy-duty membrane, making sure you peg it down in order to prevent it from coming up.
Finally, you can relay your old gravel.
This will prevent the weeds from coming back."
