How can I retry for building control approval?

Hi, how can I re-evaluate a build control application if my first attempt to gain building control approval is rejected? What are the main steps toward making an application more likely to succeed?

"Do you mean Planning Permission ? or Building Control If its planning permission you need to ask the planning office to tell you why it was not granted based on the drawings submitted
If its building control approval you can submit a retrospective application and the building control officer will need to be shown that all the work done is to the regulations now
Eg depth of foundations insulation roof insulation if you have any photos of the work whilst it was going on that would help"

"The easiest, cheapest and most common way of dealing with a lack of building regulations approval is by purchasing an indemnity insurance policy. An indemnity policy will cover the new owner of the property against costs and losses as the result of the local authority carrying out enforcement action."
