Hob tripping circuit breaker

My circuit breaker has tripped a couple of times when I've used my electric hob. Does this mean my hob is faulty or could there be another problem? The hob is newly fitted, so it shouldn't be broken.

"3 things, how the hob was wired in needs to be checked.
Also the max load of the hob compared to circuit breaker/cable.
And finally size if the cable used for wiring in.
When the electrian wired this in for you, all of these calculations should of been done and a certificate issued.

Regards,"

"There are many reasons cause this fault. MCB, cables and hob itself. You need to hire skilled person to carry out inspections and testing for all installations to find the fault. Thanks"

"If you are a homeowner, please recall spark, who has made the connection. If the hob is new, there is a chance of a bad connection.
Regarding the connection guarantee, you should receive a minor electrical certificate proving the job."

"if its only happening on one ring it could be the hob if its more than one, its more likely to be a fault within the system, you will need to get a competent person to test to find out more"

"You need to think about a few things here , so what size mcb or rcbo is the circuit ( how many amps) then is the cable large enough , I.e a 4mm cable ect to match up with the breaker to ensure their isn’t chance of over heating and a potential fire. And how has the hob been wired in ? Their is a possibility the breaker can be changed but with out a professional assessing it, it’s very difficult to know exactly the course of action needed
Hope this helped"

"if you unplug it and the circuit then stays on it would suggest a faulty appliance"

"Hob tripping is normally caused by one of the ri gs breaking down and shorting to earth...
But could also be caused by faulty installation."
