Heavy Item on Plaster Board Walls

I have hooded dryers that need to go onto a salon wall. The salon walls are plasterboard as it is a small salon suite and the dryers are heavy. Are there any recommendations for something that will help make it more secure such as bolts etc that I can purchase.

As the salon is very small (its the size of a small suite 2.7m x 3 m) I have no option but to mount the dryers on the wall as it will take up too much space as standing dryers.

Thanks in advance.

"The most secure way of fixing a heavy object is to fix is to the stud work behind the plaster board. If the stud doesn't land in an ideal position, I would recommend fixing a timber across the plasterboard to the studs. Then mounting the dryers to that timber. It would be simple enough to have the stud hidden or blend in."

"Hello,

I would recommend either plasterboard fixings such as spirals, butterfly fixings, spring toggle fixings and well fitted wall plugs.

Kind regards.

"You can byte special screw with plugs for splayed board wall and crimp then"

"You can buy heavy duty plasterboard fixings online or in your local B&Q.
All you'll need to do the job is the kit itself, measure tape and a drill."

"If you can find the stud work behind the plasterboard it would be better, as plasterboard fixings aren’t that great at holding heavy objects. My personal opinion would be to find the joints in the plasterboard and build a wooden frame behind where you want the dryers to go."

"Behind the plasterboard surely would be the brick wall , where the proper plugs for heavy duty goods could be applied . Example 8x65mm fischer duopower wall plugs .

"Hello,

If the vertical studs can be located make sure you fix into those.

If the dryers aren’t wide enough to span across 2 or more studs you could first fix horizontal battens across several studs and support the dryers off the battens.

Coach screws with a hex head and a washer into pilot holes can give a very positive fixing for heavier items.

Of course the general stability of the stud partition should first be determined too."
