Heating thermostat

Question

I have an old greenstar boiler.    It has a wireless thermostat and receiver.  Do I need to replace both with the same model.

the thermostat has to be brought as a pack with the receiver otherwise it wont send and receive signals, so thermostat and receiver need to be the same but dont have to be the same make as the boiler. we hope this helps.

You don't have to replace the thermostat with the same issue,you can use an up to date stat

Usually boilers can work with any wireless thermostat and normally The stat will come with it's own receiver when you buy one

The Thermostat and receiver will come as a pack and yes, they will both require changing.

No, if just means it would have to be  rewired, if bought like for like it would be a straight swap no wiring.

Not always a need to replace both. If your getting a quote for a new boiler have a chat about it with them.

Is the current model working?
If not then it's easier to just fit a new receiver and thermostat as they may not make the model anymore or it may cost you more as its a branded control if its build into the boiler
