Hang a wall basin

What’s needed to wall hang a basin? How can I tell if it will be suitable for my bathroom and that it’ll be safe?

"Hire a qualified plumber to do the work, he should be able to make sure you have the correct fixtures and fit the m correctly."

"As long as they are fitted properly with the correct basin fixing bolts the basins will be fine. I always put some silicone on the back of the basin as well once that sets and bolted the basin won’t go know where."

"Hi, it's not the suitability of the basin. Its the type of wall onto which it is being fixed. If it is of brick/ block type material with the appropriate fixings that's fine. However, if Its a stud wall of hollow construction you will need to open up the wall and fix a pat-tress to which the basin can be fixed..."

"A strong solid surface like brick or block wall needed. If you have plasterboard walls then insert structural timber 18mm or thicker to fix to."

"You need to first check what the wall it is to be fixed to and see what material it is constructed with.

You then need to purchase the correct wall fixings for the wall.
You then need to purchase a basin wall hanging brackets."

"Quite simply the basin needs a solid wall of some type either that be brickwork or stud work with ply sheet in between.

All basin is designed to be fitted in a bathroom."

"When hanging a wall hung basin ideally you would need a solid brick wall to fix too with the bolts supplied with the basin or some reinforcement will be required with "noggings" fitted to accommodate the basin fixings .

"Firstly check the space you have and that the basin is at least 10cm smaller than the gap you have. Then if it's a tiled brick wall then it can be drilled Rawl plugged and screwed if it's a stud wall then you would need to locate the wood "studs" to fix to."
