Gas installations

Looking at purchasing a new house however the house is not connected to any gas. The next door neighbor had gas within their house. Looking to find a rough figure on how much it will cost to get gas connected up.

"Would need to contact SGN who would come out and do a site visit then give you a price to dig up the gas line and run it into your property. I’m sure going by previous jobs and reports it about £500-1000+ depending on the length of gas run etc. But SGN will be able to give off that information once assessed.
Then depending on the property size, heat requirements etc you’d be looking at £4000+ for a heating system to be supplied and fitted"

"Distance from the mains: A new gas connection within 23 meters of the mains supply costs around £400, while longer connections can cost around £1,250.
Installation method: Trench installation costs between £800 and £1,500, while trenchless installation costs between £1,000 and £1,500."

"You will need to contact the Gas Supplier , Not a Gas Safe Engineer,
Speak with you neighbours find out whom they use and liaise with them , also you may want to contact “Cadent” whom are responsible for Installing Gas Meters"

"Firstly, you’ll need to contact your Gas Supplier to locate we address meter is
A site survey will need to be carried out to inspect where the gas run would need to go to supply your appliances"

"Best bet would be to speak to the gas supplier, not the general engineer. As the supplier is responsible, they’re the best placed to give an idea on works involved and costs associated."

"You will have to contact British Gas for a quote
plus find a Gas Safe engineer to carry out the gas instalation after the gas meter. BG will not do anything beyond the meter"

"More information is needed to make a quote. Ie. What heats the house now? Do you require an LPG Boiler and radiators?"

"Hi, is there currently a gas meter at the property?

If there is and the gas is live. Reconnecting the gas supply should be a simple job. If a new gas pipe run is required it’s probably best to get a gas company like ourselves to come and measure up the run to give you an accurate quotation."

"Depends who looks after the next work and how far the main is form the property. Most network operators will have fixed costs for these services, starting at around £600+. If you contact your next work operator they will do a survey and give you a price. Obviously I don’t know your location. But the network operator is Scotland Gas Networks in Scotland for example."
