Fitting a kitchen

Im fitting a kitchen and utility. Had to cut the end panels in the utility room and both ends are bare wood. Do I need to do something to seal them and if so what, or can I just leave them?

"No don't just leave them, over the years water on the floor will blow the laminate.
clean the cut at the floor and seal the cut with clear silicone before you fit and then finish with a fine bead of clear silicone around the joint with the floor.

"If you leave them as bare wood they let moisture in, so I suggest you seal them with a clear sealant."

"Hi Nicola!
Yes you need to seal the cut, especially when is on the floor. Silicon will do the job, just make sure to sand the cut sides to get rid of any loose material, and than dust it off.
I hope this help.
