Fit a shower in bedroom
My daughter’s bedroom is next to the bathroom and the bathtub faces her room. My question is, can we get a shower installed in her room like an ensuite (minus the toilet and sink) using the existing plumbing and drainage from the bathroom? There is a window that we can use for ventilation.

"Yes you can, if the layout of your bath position is as you described adjacent the bedroom wall, then this can be achieved with very little interference to your bathroom.
Hope this is of some help."

"Yes, it is possible to install a shower in your daughter's bedroom using the existing plumbing and drainage from the adjacent bathroom, but there are a few key factors to consider:
Plumbing & Drainage – Since the bathroom is next to her room, the existing water supply and drainage could be extended to accommodate a shower. However, the feasibility depends on the floor structure and whether the drainage can be sloped properly for wastewater to flow correctly. A plumber would need to assess whether the current system can handle the additional load.
Ventilation & Moisture Control – While the window helps with ventilation, a proper extractor fan might be necessary to prevent excessive moisture buildup, which could lead to mold or dampness in the bedroom.
Waterproofing & Flooring – A shower requires proper waterproofing, including tanking (waterproof membranes) and suitable flooring to prevent leaks. If the existing floor is wooden, additional reinforcement might be needed.
Building Regulations & Permits – In the UK, you may need approval under Building Regulations (especially for drainage and ventilation) before installation. A professional plumber or builder can advise on compliance.
Privacy & Layout – Since it’s a bedroom, consider how the shower will be enclosed to ensure privacy and avoid water splashes affecting the rest of the room. A wet room-style installation or a cubicle with a proper drainage system could work.
Next Steps:
Consult a plumber or builder to assess feasibility.
Check local Building Regulations for compliance.
Plan waterproofing and ventilation solutions."

"Yes, you can install a shower in your daughter's bedroom using the existing plumbing from the adjacent bathroom. Since the bathtub is already facing her room, extending the water supply should be straightforward. The key challenge is drainage—if the waste pipe has the correct slope (1:40), you can connect directly, but if not, a macerator pump may be required. Waterproofing with tanking, tiles, and water-resistant plasterboard is essential, and while the window provides ventilation, an extractor fan is recommended to prevent moisture buildup. For privacy, a glass partition or tiled half-wall could work. It's a practical addition but consider future resale value, as a full ensuite may be more appealing."

"Yes it’s possible, the waste water pipe is the issue, the shower may have to go on a platform to allow a fall on the waste water pipe unless it can go straight outside and through an external wall and connect up to the waste water pipe"

"Yes there is no problem with doing what you want as long as the pipes in your bathroom are excusable."

"I’m guessing there is limited space, but It would be possible to install a en-suite shower only, once the size of the bedroom, the room structure/contors and how adding it would affect what’s already in there, including the door, plus even with the window, I’d strongly advice to fit a fan.."
