"On my watch foundation's are piled on soft ground & poured in a concrete to support the buildings structure ... I hope this makes sense & helps you out ."

"Hi,
You would never use soft clay bricks in the foundations because they would not be strong enough for underground construction.The moisture and alkaline content would eventually attack the soft clay brick."
