Extra electric socket

I would like to have a double socket installed in a small room/cupboard (7ft x 7ft approx) that has my electricity meter, fuse box etc on 1 of the walls. Is this a reasonably straightforward job and approximately how much would it cost? Any advice and or ballpark figures would be greatly appreciated!

"Yes the job may be pretty straightforward if there is an existing socket outlet in close proximity to where the new socket is to be installed. Expect to pay anything between £80 - £150 which should also cover material cost too."

"Just out of interest what is the purpose of the socket? The job sounds straightforward and if the circuits are ok then it should only cost between £90 to £100."
