My house has patches of broken pebbledash and various cracks etc. that need repair before it can be repainted. I'm not sure what kind of tradesperson I need.

"You will need to find a rough caster, sometimes these cracks can happen again depending on whats caused it in the first place, better to ask before you get it done how it happened, that way you wont have to pay to get it done a second time, for example it could be caused by no expansion joints or some times to do with not having lintels above doors and windows, hopefully this is the case for you but its worth checking"

"It’s a good idea to get quotes from a couple of plasterers or rendering specialists to ensure they understand the job. Make sure they have experience with exterior rendering, specifically pebbledash repairs."

"I would normally carry out survey of cavity wall to check condition of wall ties !! Cracking around lintel can be caused again by expansion of steel without concrete!! And possibly versus other issues with I recommend carrying out inspection with competent person . Thanks john hopefully of some use to you good luck"

"Presuming the house is a 1920’s/ 30’s you would need to remove the pebble dash around the cracks to see if there is any structural damage, if there is none then a plasterer / renderer would be required"

"For repairs to pebbledash and cracks on the exterior of your house, you will need to hire a **plasterer** or a **specialist in exterior rendering**. Here's a breakdown of the tradespeople you might need:

1. **Plasterer/Renderer**: A plasterer with experience in exterior rendering can repair broken pebbledash, fill in cracks, and ensure the exterior surface is smooth and ready for painting. They will be able to match the existing pebbledash texture and blend repairs seamlessly into the rest of the surface.

2. **General Builder**: If the damage to the pebbledash is extensive or if there are structural cracks that suggest deeper issues with the building's structure, a general builder may be necessary. They can assess if there are underlying structural issues that need to be addressed before cosmetic repairs.

3. **Exterior Decorator**: After the repairs are complete, you may want to hire an exterior decorator or painter who specializes in exterior surfaces. They will properly prepare and paint the repaired pebbledash, ensuring it is protected from weather elements.

For most minor to moderate repairs, a skilled plasterer or renderer should be sufficient to repair the pebbledash and fill any cracks, making the surface ready for repainting."
