Extension price

How much approximately would I look to be paying for an extension approx 4m by 6m and for a few years later to build a second floor right on top of that. Or am I crazy to think something like this is possible?

"Hi. The average price you would be looking at it around £17-18,000. Depending on what the extension was going to be used for. The foundation would be done to a depth so in future if you do want to go up a level then it would take the load."

"Around 12k but you would have to get planning for the second floor aswell as they could refuse that in a separate planning"

"For an extension of this size you’re looking to pay around 40-55k depending on the finish.

And it is possible to build the extension in such a way that later on down the line you can just strip the roof off and build another floor above."

"Hi Anna
No, not crazy, forward planning is always good.
However, your request isnt detailed enough to give an accurate Quote. Some of the points to consider include - how will access be gained to the upstairs room, will any other rooms adjoining require a redesign/rebuild too, will you expect us to work as project manager or will you be overseeing the project, level of decoration and fittings to be installed.
I will be delighted to advise further when you are at the planning stage and about to submit plans."

"Isn't impossible but depends the house design and the place you want to build. How you get access to second floor of the extension from inside the house? On first floor probably you have the kitchen or living room and it's easy to access but in the second floor is either bedrooms or bedroom and toilet so awkward access from house to extension."

"I'd say this could be possible but would require a spec to price to, site visit, customer vetting etc depending on the final finish the price could range 15k to 50k"

"Hi not a silly question at all and absolutely would be possible. . But can only give you a ball park figure without seeing the site and having more details. The current meterage cost of building is approximately £2300 per square metre. So 4x 6 = 24m2 x 2300 =£54000 this would include all labour and materials but some
Extras may be added depending on ground conditions and depth of excavation needed. Hope this reply helps."
