What electrical requirements does a light above a bath need to meet?

"It’s a MINIMUM of ip44 for a light anywhere in the bathroom, hope this helps , that can be placed in ANY of the zones accept 0 of course (basically in the bath, basin or shower lol)"

This would be considered as zone 1
Bathroom Lights can be used in the area above the bath to a height of 2.25m from the floor. In this zone a minimum rating of IP44 is required. The circuit will need to be 30mA RCD (residual current device) protected also

"A light above the bath which will be in Zone 1 Has to Be IP66 rated for ingress of water . Basically the light has to be sealed so no steam or water can penetrate

"Most of the time 12 volt lighting is preferred
All lighting needs to be ip rated. 4/6. Is preferred
And lighting main should be rcd protected at fuse board"
