Electrical Extension - To Shed

Hoping to get power into a garden shed.

I have need of temporarily getting power to the shed for power tools as and when needed - i.e not on any regular basis.
Not on a permanent basis.
I can run an extension cable outside to the shed, and intend to put a trailing lead socket into a weatherproof ext cover which then connects through the shed into a Metal Clad USB Switched Socket (13A 2 Gang)...my intention would be to wire the tag end of the trailing cable into the switched socket - which is connected to the trailing cable socket in the ext weatherproof cover - which would receive power from an extension lead connected from the house itself. This is setup this way to avoid trip hazards/extension cables running across a shed floor.
Is this feasible ?
Anything connected to the switched sockets would be on an RCD adaptor.

"It doesn't sound good and most of all that it will become a permanent power supply temporarily. This type of power supply can actually be temporary, i.e. after finishing work, we dismantle the power supply system"

"You have to factor in the ampage of the circuit that you plan to use , the distance of the lead to the shed . Then factor in the load of the items that you plan to use . If you exceed the load then you will get tripping of the mcbs through overload. Also you might get volt drop which can lead to the motors burning out on machinery .
My advise would be to get a qualified electrician to safely install the supply to make the installation safe"

"Hello, Sounds like something temporary that would eventually end up being permanent. I would get someone in to have a look."

"There are a lot of technical issues concerning supplies to out buildings. Extension leads are not a good way to supply buildings as they are not mechanically protected, if your house has a PME earth and the lead is damaged breaking the neutral conductor then any earthed metal in the building will become live. I am not looking for work as I have more than enough but I would recommend it is done correctly using steel wired armoured cable, sized accordingly for load and volts drop by a registered electrician."

"The best to do this is running a proper sheathing 3 core weatherproof wire instead of using extension cables which is not a good idea for long term."

"Sounds something temporary I would definitely call an electrician"

"A qualified electrician would not be allowed to install in this manner. If you do it as a DIY option the risk is yours. Sorry but its not the right way to do it. From what you have written this is potentially dangerous. There are strict requirements in the Electrical Regulations to prevent just this type of bodge. Also if you sold up and left it in place then the new owners got a shock from it the only liable person would be you. Please look into getting a proper electrician to do the job safely."

"What is the meaning of tag end? What do you mean by trail cable? Also, what is a rid adapter?Well I'm not 100% sure you understand the principle and main function of an rcd? If your existing consumer unit in the home hasn't got rcd, or rcbo protection installed inside the consumer unit already, then none of your socket outlets in general throughout the home will not be protected by a residual current device and shouldn’t be used out doors period, let alone indoors."

"You should use steel cable. You will bury it. You should put the spur,You should use installations for water protection. Or if you call a good electrician who knows this job, it will help you. Electricity is no joke.."

"Anything connected to the socket by a plug is not a part of electrical installation. Stationary Equipment it is called. Please note extension cable should have label for max usage (cable capacity) usually max 13A (3000W)."
