How energy efficient are electric boilers? Are some types of electric boilers more efficient than others?

"Electric boiler energy efficiency is dependant on the style of boiler and the manufacturer. Technically all are 10% efficient as they have no h at loss through waste flue gases. The issue is whether the unit has been specifically selected to suit the property it is fitted to. I have recently had to remove a 12 month old electric combi boiler from a property and replace it with a high efficiency gas fire condensing combination boiler. The elderly customer was paying in excess of £1000 per month for fuel, due to requiring a lot of hot water and maintaining a high room temperature due to I’ll health. Another customer has had an air source heat pump fitted to a correctly upgraded and calculated system and has seen their fuel bill fall dramatically. In reality electric boilers are an alternative for off gas grid properties, but air source heat pumps are far more energy efficient when correctly specified."

"Have you only got electricity? Would have gas before electric there not that efficient gas is more efficient do you in countysiide ? I would get lpg before electric these heat pumps won’t take off"
