"Acrylic (resins) baths are warmer to the touch than their steel counterparts. but cast iron is the most durable bath available, and the finish is resistant to chipping, scratching and denting."

"acrylic liner. We will then receive a high-strength model, aesthetic and comfortable to use, and will last for a long time"

"Super steel baths are the best, they are a thicker gauge steel to standard steel baths and generally the finish of them is of a much higher quality"

"Enamel paint is a high-gloss oil-based paint that is typically used on hard, non-porous surfaces such as metal, while acrylic paints are chemical-based paints that are best used on surfaces porous and exterior due to its ability to expand and contract with rising and falling temperatures. Emulsified polymers give acrylic paint its flexibility. These flexible bonds make acrylic paint ideal for painting on non-porous and porous surfaces, as air is what allows the polymers in the paint to maintain their bonds.

Acrylic paint also wears much faster than enamel paint. When applied to non-porous surfaces, a primer or substrate for acrylic paints is required. If acrylic paint is not allowed to breathe properly, it can crack or chip.

The slower drying process of enamel is a direct result of its oil base. Although enamel paints dry more slowly than acrylic paints, they stand up to handling and traffic very well and are easy to clean. The stability of the enamel makes it a favorite of model builders. Although enamel is not traditionally considered an artist's paint, several renowned artists have successfully incorporated enamel into their work. Pablo Picasso, for example, created works of art using a commercial enamel paint."

"As a bathroom fitter, I have seen & removed many old baths, I would say there is little to choose between the two with steel/enamel retaining its finish marginally better but any form of limescale remover or acid based cleaner must not be used as acids will attack the enamel. Acrylic baths are impervious to acidic cleaners but will scratch more easily and abrasive cream or powder cleaners must not be used, never use pan cleaning sponges in the bathroom as these contain hard grit that will scratch surfaces. Don't touch black, brass or gold taps as these tarnish, lose their laquer and show limescale. Chrome taps are by far the most durable"

"Steel baths
They are considered to be more durable and are much stronger than the plastic version. In fact they are even stronger than a cast iron or stone bath. For this reason they will last a long time. This type of bath will retain the heat of the water much longer than acrylic."
