Dormer vs Velux rooflight for loft
Is it worth paying extra for a dormer window rather than have a Velux rooflight in a loft conversion? Does it make any difference to how much light it brings in or to the house value?

The cost of a dormer will certainly be higher although this will make the room far more useful with the gain of head room, and light and will give the room a much larger feel. With the additional wall space The additional room will increase the value of the property by more than the cost of the dormer I would imagine but an estate agent would be able to clarify and quantify the amount for you.
