Do long Ethernet cables compromise speed?

Will a long Ethernet cable mean slower speeds or signal loss? If so, how long would a cable need to be for you to notice a difference?

Yes but if you stay below 100m with CAT6 or above and install the cable correctly you can  easily get 100m without any impact to speed/quality.

No it shouldn’t but an inferior quality Ethernet cable will.

you wont really notice the difference on cat5,6 unless your exceeding 100 meters +

Yes it does but what length are you thinking about?  
If this is less than 100 meters you do not need to worry about it.

ethernet cables over 100m normally effect speed nothing very noticable

Cat 5 network cable should be good for 50 metres, cat 6 should be good for 100 metres

No. Not unless you exceed 90/100m in which case you’ll need hardware (eg switch) to boost signal. There is a 5 nanosecond delay per metre for Cat5 so fractional.

You should be able to go up to 100m. Pure Cooper cable is probably better to use than ccs or cca.
